Student artwork displayed at annual Artworks Festival

Over 90 Mokena 159 students submitted their artwork for the annual ArtWorks Festival held at Lincoln-Way East High School. Artwork submitted was created during art class throughout the 2023-2024 school year. Mokena 159 had students participate from every grade, including Kindergarten!

Submissions included watercolor paintings, mandala drawings with charcoal, positive and negative leaves and flowers made with watercolor and tempera, abstract oil pastel drawings, and Aurora Borealis drawings made with charcoal and pastel, pop art drawings, shoe designs, digital art, shading, color contrasts, one-point perspectives, and tessellations.

The ArtWorks Fine Arts Festival is a day-long event full of exhibitions, music performances, and workshops. The exhibition features art from all three Lincoln-Way High Schools, Frankfort 157-C, St. Mary’s School, Manhattan 114, New Lenox 122, Lincoln-Way District 210, Mokena 159, and Providence High School.
