Mokena Junior High students raised awareness around inclusion, respect, and all abilities through Respect Week! Students participated in a PE takeover with LWSRA to learn about adaptive sports, learned about a different disability each day and dressed in a certain color to bring awareness, supported fundraising for LWSRA through the purchase of stickers and fidgets, and signed a banner to pledge respect and inclusion and as a visual reminder of the school's comitment to inclusion!

Congratulations to the 144 Mokena Junior High School students who have earned national recognition for their achievements on the PreATC 8/9 exam! The PreACT Rising Stars program honors students who score in the top half of all U.S. students who took the PreACT 8/9 Assessment. Pictured here are the 12 junior high students who received the highest award of Distinguished Scholar, recognizing their achievement in the top 3% of all students nationwide!

Lucky to be Kinderbuddies! Students enjoyed writing together about what they would do if they found a leprechaun stuck in a pot of gold and a craft to go along!
Save the date for the district-wide Hoopin' for Inclusion event on April 29th! We are partnering with the Lincolnway Special Recreation Association (LWSRA) for an action packed wheelchair basketball matchup between LWSRA and Mokena staff members! Doors open at the junior high at 5:30pm with a tip off time of 6:00pm. Sensory friendly activities, face painting, and raffles will also be available. All proceeds will go directly to supporting LWSRA programming!
